A Certified Autism Center™, Because Every Child Belongs Here

Bloom is recognized as a Certified Autism Center™ by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

Bloom Pediatric Dentistry is proud to be recognized as a Certified Autism Center™ by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). It is a designation we pursued on purpose, because inclusivity is not an add-on at Bloom. It is who we are.

To earn this certification, our entire team completed specialized autism and sensory training, and IBCCES conducted an onsite review of our practice to build sensory guides and recommend ways to make every visit more comfortable. The result is a dental home designed to welcome children with autism, sensory sensitivities, and a wide range of developmental, communication, and special healthcare needs.

“Every family who walks through our doors deserves care that meets them where they are, delivered by a team trained to understand the unique needs of autistic and sensory-sensitive patients. This certification holds us accountable to that standard, and it tells our community that they belong here, that they are understood, and that their care is in capable, compassionate hands.”

— Dr. Mindi D'Elia and the Bloom Team

Meeting Every Child Where They Are

No two children experience the dental office the same way, so we do not ask them to. Instead, we follow each child's lead and adjust the pace, the sights, the sounds, and the sensations to fit them. Our goal is not just to get through an appointment. It is to help each child master their own version of a positive dental experience, building trust and confidence that lasts a lifetime.

Trusted, Ongoing Standards

For 25 years, IBCCES has been the global leader in autism, sensory, and neurodiversity training and certification across healthcare, education, and beyond. Their programs are built with subject-matter experts and autistic self-advocates, and include onsite reviews, continuous learning, and renewal requirements, so our commitment keeps growing over time rather than ending on the day we were certified.

Many children with autism and sensory sensitivities also struggle with breathing, sleep, and jaw development. Dr. Mindi is a ToothPillow provider, a non-surgical airway program for kids ages 3 to 12, and she offers it both in our Chandler office and virtually, so care can happen in whatever setting feels most comfortable for your child.
